A leader in small group adventure travel for over 30 years, G Adventures was the inspiration of one man, Bruce Poon Tip, working out of a garage apartment in Toronto. From a shoestring, he built G Adventures into the world’s largest small group adventure travel company, with more than 750 tours on all seven continents.
G Adventures has a mission to change the world through responsible travel, and the company is committed to supporting businesses in its destinations. This attracts socially conscious travelers who seek flexible itineraries, smaller groups, the freedom to explore, safety and peace of mind, and locally based guides that connect them to host communities. G keeps its groups small to create a sense of camaraderie and allow for closer connections to the places and people visited. Most land tours have no more than 16 travellers and average 10-12. Single travelers are always welcome, either paired with a same-sex roommate for no single supplement fee, or if they wish their own room they can do so for a small reasonable charge.
G Adventures offers a huge range of product and a wide variety of travel styles. Offerings include Classic Tours, Wellness Tours, Active Tours, Rail Tours, Local Living Tours, Family Tours, Private Travel, 18-Thirtysomethings Tours, National Geographic Journeys, Family Tours, Hiking & Trekking Tours, The Jane Goodall Collection and Roamies Tours in partnership with HostelWorld. As well as land journeys, G offers a fleet of intimate waterborne vessels offering dream trips including polar exploration on the G Expedition, exploring the Galapagos Islands, or sailing through the Greek islands.
It would be more concise to list where G Adventures doesn’t go than where it does. When you find clients who resonate with G’s products, they can become clients for life -- and never take the same trip twice. With 750 itineraries visiting around 100 countries, there’s a world of choice to learn about and promote.
G Adventures calls its travel industry sales partners “Agents of Change.” Sherpa is the travel agents’ exclusive portal to G Adventures. Registered agents and agencies gain access to an efficient online booking engine, and can also register for monthly sales webinars, order brochures, take training courses and lots more.
If you’re not currently registered with G Adventures, you can find out more about the company’s trade support here. The registration form for new users is here.
G Adventures agent training is available on Sherpa. New users can start with G101 Training and the Introduction to Community Tourism, each about 20 minutes long. These provide a good rundown on the company’s distinctive characteristics. Also on Sherpa is the G Adventures Agent Backpack, a go-to tool kit for company info, news and updates, webinars, selling tools, tips, tricks, and more.
G Adventures offers all its preferred agents of change with some fantastic agent rates and the ability to apply for participation on fam trips. As an example, agents can earn up to 50% off the majority of G Adventures trips. Full terms and conditions can be found on the G Adventures Sherpa Travel Advisor Portal.
G Adventures calls members of its North American sales teams ‘Global Purpose Specialists.’ They are there to assist agents as they guide clients to the best G Adventures options for their travel goals. You can find the Global Purpose Specialist responsible for your region at the G Adventures Sherpa Travel Advisor Portal.
The agent portal is also where you’ll find the G Adventures Agent Backpack. It’s an extra-handy tool kit that contains everything you need to sell G Adventures tours. Inside the Backpack you’ll find training modules that unlock access to your Agent Discount, webinar recordings on all the latest must-know info, marketing resources, social media assets and more.
